HEALTH AND
LOVE BRIGADE
On Saturday October 7, 2006, from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., the Integral
Health Brigade 2006 was carried out in the Swamp of the Virgin, at, at the
San Felipe Nery School, in the Ricaurte sector where the Jesus Foundation
has its work.
The community was provided with general medical attention, pap smears,
breast examinations, vaccination, fluoridation, medications, haircuts,
recreational activities, refreshments, family and legal counseling, and of
course evangelism and lots of love.
Support for this social action was given by companies and institutions such
as Postobon, Hilton Hotel, Gerco Laboratories, Sanofi Synthelabo Laboratory,
DADIS (public health institute), ESE Cartagena de Indias Hospital,
Profamilia, Colgate-Palmolive, TECNAR, San Felipe Nery School, Christian
Bilingual School de Cartagena and members of the Comunidad Cristiana de Fe y
Amor Church (CCFA)
Thanks to cash donations by members of the CCFA church, which amounted to
some US $300, we were able to defray costs of medicines, elements of
logistical support, dentistry and transportation. There were also donations
of clothing and food.
The Jesus Foundation is grateful for the support received from medical and
nursing personnel who collaborated attending patients, as well as for all
the volunteers who were willing to serve the community in its needs on
different work committees.

AN OPEN LETTER
“If anyone has material possessions and sees his brother in need but has
no pity on him, how can the love of God be in him? Dear children, let us not
love with words or tongue but with actions and in truth” 1 John 3:17-18.
The letter which follows is a communication from the Board of Directors of
the Jesus Foundation directed to the members of the Comunidad Cristiana de
Fe y Amor church and other participants in the 2006 Health Brigade.
As you all know, last October 7th we had a very successful Integral Health
Brigade 2006.
We want to manifest our profound gratitude to all the members of the
Comunidad Cristiana de Fe y Amor church (CCFA) and other participating
friends, since your opportune and decisive support were determining factors
to achieving excellent results.
We have received spontaneous expressions of thanks from the community of the
Ricaurte Sector, Barrio Olaya Herrera, beneficiaries of the Brigade, which
we convey to you in this letter.
We hope that God will multiply your effort and support to the most needy
communities of Cartagena.
We invite you to continue praying for our daily tasks in the Foundation and
count on you for the traditional Christmas Party for the children of the
Swamp of the Virgin who attend the Dreams of Liberty School, directed by the
Jesus Foundation, on Saturday, December 16th.
