We came to know Mama Furaha as we used to call her as a loving
and a caring mother who loved and laughed at all times. We miss and cherish her
memories

Here in Kenya Evelyn Johnson was always called "mama furaha" Happy mother.
She always smiled and laughed with the people. One special thing she will always
be remembered here for is all the wedding cakes she baked for our pastors as
they got married. She really loved the people of Kenya. She and her husband Jim
served here at the school and among the churches for more than 20 years. May she
rest in peace.

When I first came to the church Evelyn & Jim were making their first trip to
Africa so it was on their furloughs that I really came to know them.
Evelyn was the most warm and loving lady I'd ever encountered. She was
a mother to all. She had the happy disposition that brought a smile to
all who spoke with her. They hosted a bible study when they lived in
Colton that every one wanted to attend because of her sweet hospitality.
She was generous enough to put together our surprise 25th anniversary party at
her house. I'll always be grateful for the example she set for Inland
Christian Center ladies, of Godly womanhood and sacrificial giving.
